Electromechanical connectors and components

Products are broken down into the following sections, please select the section you wish to start with.

Electromechanical devices perform electrical operations through the use of moving parts. These connectors and components usually involve an electrical signal which is used to create a mechanical movement or vice versa, a mechanical movement to create an electrical signal. Although interconnect technology is advancing at a rapid rate, the electromechanical components still play a vital role across many sectors and applications.

The Electroustic profile includes components and connectors from a number of top manufacturers including Bulgin and Lumberg. Products that you will find within this category are Fuse holders, IEC Inlets, IEC Outlets, Battery holders, Switches, Piezo switches, Indicators and automotive connector systems. Electromechanical engineering combines electrical and mechanical engineering to find solutions for systems that rely on mechanical elements, electrical power, sensing and control.

The majority of the components within our product portfolio are from Bulgin;

Bulgin’s extensive range of fuse holders are designed to give the degree of protection demanded in today’s sophisticated electronic equipment. Carrying world-wide safety approvals from UL, VDE, CSA and SEMKO, all types are manufactured from high grade flame retardant nylon and polyester materials.

A full range of quality mains rated inlets, outlets and connectors conforming to IEC and EN 60320 specifications carrying UL, CSA, VDE and other approvals. With electrical ratings up to 20A, 250V (UL) these connector ranges offer solutions to most mains powered equipment and cable applications. Completing the range are insulating boots, retaining clips and safety covers.

Manufactured from quality moulding and metal components to ensure a secure and reliable connection, Bulgin’s battery holder range caters for battery sizes AAA(R03), AA(R6), C(R14), CR123, D(R20) and PP3(6R61), accommodating 1, 2, 3 or 4 cells. There’s a choice of fixing styles including screw and flange panel fixing, PCB and base mounting versions.

Bulgin’s extensive range of vandal resistant, stainless steel, security switches are designed with a high resistance to wear and tear, corrosion and harsh use in potentially hostile environments such as access control applications. Bulgin also offer a range of Piezo switches designed to withstand the harshest of environments. Unlike traditional switches, Piezo have no moving mechanical parts making them extremely durable, withstanding millions of actuations and requiring little to no maintenance.

The LED indicators consist of many different bezel styles, types of LED's and colours. The range has developed to meet the many different needs of panel design including IP67 environmentally sealed versions for use where a front panel seal is needed. The vandal resistant LED indicators are designed to complement the vandal resistant switches, they have similar profiles with stainless steel bodies, sealing to IP66 and 68 and are built to withstand harsh environments.

Automotive connector systems from Lumberg use press-fit technology. This is a solderless electromechanical method with many benefits, especially for the automotive industry.
