AC Alternating Current
DC Direct Current - An electric current that flows in one direction.
DIN DIN; Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. DIN is the acknowledged national standards body that represents German interests in European and international standards organisations.
IEC International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IEC is the world’s leading organisation that prepares and publishes International Standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies.
IP Ingress Protection - EN 60529 outlines an international classification system for the sealing effectiveness of enclosures of electrical equipment against the intrusion into the equipment of foreign bodies (i.e. tools, dust, fingers) and moisture.
MIL Spec Military Specification - Standardisation which meets the requirements set by USA Defence.

RoHS Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances
RoHS Compliant A RoHS compliant component is tested for the presence of the following; Lead (Pb)<0.1%, Cadmium (Cd)<0.01%, Mercury (Hg)≤100 ppm, Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr)<0.01%, Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)<0.1%, and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)<0.1%. 

In the EU, some military and medical equipment are exempt from RoHS compliance.
